Information Security Consultant

Pervasive Solutions helps organizations assess their security posture to define an internal discipline to generate lasting business values. We are now looking to add a new team member to our Information Security Practice.

This role is responsible for:

- Supporting the sale, delivery and management of
security information risk related consulting
services

The Candidates must have:

- Experience in security program implementation, policy
and governance, monitoring, assessment and audit, and
security operations
- Experience in application security, network security,
and/or information security program as well as risk
management
- Ability to evaluate and determine an organization’s
overall information security maturity, and propose
tactical and strategic advisory services to improve
the organization’s overall program and risk posture

This position requires the skill set to think outside Information Technology activities, focus on the business process needs, and its Information Security and governance requirements. Pervasive Solutions requires a strong commitment to its clients and a passion to lead and mentor. This position requires the ability to work with a consulting team to assure the client’s success, and ultimately the success of Pervasive Solutions.

Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic information security advisory and
consulting services for clients
- Identify customer Information Security Risk Management
needs
- Scope security engagements, support in the development
of proposals and statements of work, effectively
translate customer requirements into an engagement to
meet those needs
- Provide trusted Information Security Officer advisory
services to customers
- Translate business, industry, and regulatory
requirements into information security risk management
objectives and associated strategic/tactical
information security initiatives
- Demonstrate the ability to multi-task, including
completing client engagements and thought leadership
activities

Required Qualifications:

+ Minimum of 4-5 years of information security
experience with specific focus on one or more of the
following:

- Network Security
- Application Security & Secure SDLC
- Information Risk Management
- Security audit
- Security operations
- Security Program development
- Compliance management
- Experience researching, developing, and applying
new methodologies and technologies

+ Cross-organizational IT project management experience
with an information security focus
+ Strong leadership skills
+ Demonstrated ability to self-manage
+ Exemplary command of the English language, both oral
and written
+ Information security program and risk management
knowledge
+ Ability to work with sales personnel to develop new
business and to maintain current client relationships
+ Ability to work hands on as a billable consultant for
both technical and strategic based engagements
+ Practical experience and knowledge with one or more of
the following:

- Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
- HIPAA
- GLBA
- FISMA
- Breach Notification Law’s
- PCI-DSS
- SAS 70
- ISO 17799/27000 Security Best Practices
- CoBit

Certifications (preferred, but not required):

+ Certified information systems security professionals®
(CISSP®)
+ Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM®)
+ Global Information Assurance Certification® (GIAC®)

Education Requirements: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Travel Required: Average travel approximately 40%
