Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning and conducting Information Technology (IT) audit projects based on risk assessments of University of Rochester financial, medical and academic information systems. Works with the Manager and the Director of University Audit and University Information stakeholders, to plan, develop and conduct audit programs in accordance with standards for the professional practice of internal auditing. Develops audit programs to assess the adequacy of controls and procedures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information. Concentrates on in-depth IT assessments of business critical, high impact/high-risk systems. The initial focus of this position will be on risk identification and auditing the General Information Technology Controls across University information systems. The scope of the position also includes assuring that adequate controls are in place to protect sensitive academic, research, clinical and administrative/financial information.
Works with University and Medical Center Information stakeholders including chief security officials, chief information officers, chief operating officers, chief financial officers, system administrators, department managers and staff in the conduct of Information Technology audits. Reports on audit findings and makes recommendations to improve information technology and security controls and the internal University control environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Information Systems. Three or more years experience in information systems analysis, design and / or programming in combination with 3 or more years in Information Technology auditing, or 6 years in Information Technology auditing in an academic, corporate or public accounting environment.
CISA, CISM or CIA preferred.
